Hannah Brookman and I's work comes from our affinity for the handmade. The quality of our set, costumes and the content of the video, Wishing, all point to the maker, allowing the process to become the performance. In Wishing, we open our private practice to the viewer through performing in our handmade set. We also bring our costumes into the public, othering ourselves as artists in society. The costumes were not made with the intent of public performance, as they were originally created for the Wishing set. The video allows us to combine both worlds, imaginative and real as we work to understand and appreciate our artistic practice. Wishing embodies collaboration in friendship.
